Harpoon’s line of craft beer features its award-winning IPA and seasonal beers, along with special limited releases. Jennifer Glanville, a brewer for Sam Adams, explains the choice: 'While the brewers looked at a lot of fruits, they settled on the subtle addition of apricots and orange peel to provide a slight sweetness to round out the brew and to add zest that plays on the citrusy. Its 5.2?percent alcohol by volume is small compared with many other spiced winter warmers, and it pours much lighter while retaining its balance. Boston Beer put a different spin on this already innovative style with the addition of apricots. Styled after an English IPA but brewed with distinctly American hops, it’s citrusy, refreshing, and perfectly balanced as perfect on a Cape Cod beach as it is in a VT ski lodge or Boston dive bar. Lemon peel and nutmeg linger in a dry, light aftertaste. As enjoyable today as it was in ‘93, IPA is a regional favorite and a craft beer classic.
